How does Slimpod work with Chronic Illnesses that affect mobility?
There’s no doubt that exercise can be an important part of losing and maintaining weight but studies have show around 80% of weight loss is from changes to your eating rather than exercise. The Slimpod programme nudges you towards healthier foods and habits, and this can include moving more. But, moving more doesn’t have to mean a gruelling workout in the gym, instead it can mean feeling more energised to do cleaning around the house, or being able to walk an extra 500 steps in your day. Most importantly, we don’t tell you when or how to exercise, so you can do what is safe and right for you. We’ve had lots of people with various chronic illnesses like Fibromyalgia, CFS/ME and more on Slimpod, and you can read June’s story of losing four stone and going from using a mobility scooter to burlesque dancing here.
